GIBRALTAR – Court confirms Gibraltar’s right to its own taxation policy

Gibraltar has won its case against the European Commission regarding its right to set its own rate of corporate taxation. The Commission vetoed Gibraltar’s move in 2004 to slash corporation tax from 35 per cent to 15 per cent, claiming that Gibraltar was effectively receiving state aid from the UK. But the European Court of Justice has now struck down the veto.
